Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2-3 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Prepare Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream Butter and Sugar:
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla:
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix just until incorporated.
- Add Peaches:
- Gently fold in the sliced peaches.
- Bake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Dust:
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
